Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, The Beast! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Alexander! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beast looks to throw the jab but Alexander is out of range. Beast slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Beast cracks Alexander with a right hand to the side of the head. Alexander uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Beast. Beast ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Beast defending well as Alexander loads up on a big left hand. Beast closes this distance looking for a takedown but Alexander circles away. The Beast seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Beast throws a hook but Alexander blocks it. Beast misses with a double jab
and Alexander counters with a stiff right hand. Beast pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Beast lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Beast moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Alexander looks to land a left hand but Beast moved out of range nicely. Beast looks for a takedown but Alexander sprawls well. Beast dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alexander uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Beast. Beast slips under a jab from Alexander. Alexander takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Alexander listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Beast lands a glancing blow to the side of Alexander's head. Alexander looks to throw the jab but Beast is out of range. Alexander waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Beast. Alexander takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Beast throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alexander ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Beast throws a looping overhand right but Alexander ducks down to avoid it. Beast fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Beast is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Beast shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alexander defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Beast. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alexander misses with a wild body shot. Alexander uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Beast. Beast catches Alexander with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Alexander ducks under a wild hook from Beast. Beast throws a hook but Alexander blocks it. Beast is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Beast throws a monster overhand right that drops Alexander! Beast follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
