Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Puntti Manne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugh Janus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manne comes to the cage accompanied by Ei myö myyvä Villihevosia. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Puntti Manne! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hugh Janus! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Manne cracks the inside of Janus's front leg. Janus tries to clinch but Manne is having none of it. Janus tries to sprawl but Manne drives through with a takedown into half guard. Manne looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Manne seems to be looking for submissions.
Janus keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Manne trying to control the pace. Manne trying to mount his opponent but Janus defends it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Manne throwing shots but Janus is blocking nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Manne thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Janus's head. Manne seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Janus does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Manne has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Janus is looking to escape. Manne tries to pass the half guard into mount. Janus knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Manne shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Janus's guard. Manne works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manne takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Janus wants to get back to his feet.
Manne looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Manne thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Manne thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Janus's head. Janus is looking to escape. Janus is staying active underneath Manne, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Manne throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Janus to regain full guard. Manne trying to control but Janus is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Janus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Manne is controlling him.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Janus walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Manne scores with a jab to the jaw. Janus tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Manne counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Manne. Manne stands up over Janus, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Janus wants to stand up but Manne is controlling him. Manne passes Janus's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Janus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Manne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Janus is not content to let Manne control the position. Ground and pound from Manne. Manne prevents Janus from standing back up.
Manne wants to take a breather but Janus is having none of it. Manne is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Janus has managed to free his arm - good work. Janus is looking to escape. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Manne not landing any meaningful shots this time. Manne is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Puntti Manne dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Janus is looking to clinch but Manne is avoiding it.

Manne pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Janus takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Manne looks for a takedown but Janus sprawls well. A bone on bone clash there as Janus blocks the leg kick.
Janus slaps away a takedown attempt from Manne, before circling back to the center of the mat. Manne is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Janus can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Janus is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Manne misses with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Janus moves out of range as Manne strikes. Janus tries to clinch up. Janus wants to clinch. Janus forces Manne back against the cage and clinches. I was talking to Manne's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Janus holding his opponent close, against the cage.

Manne wants to break free but Janus has control.

Janus wants to clinch. Janus takes the fight into the clinch. Janus blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Manne's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Janus closes the distance looking to clinch and Manne counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Janus has one foot on Manne's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Janus wants to clinch but Manne slips to the side and Manne counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Janus! Sloppy strikes there by Manne. Manne working the ground and pound. Manne lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Janus down.
Manne cracks Janus with a big elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Manne tries for a kimura but Janus is defending well. Puntti Manne overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Manne wants to control but Janus is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Manne is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Janus knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Manne throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Janus throws Manne to one side and escapes! Manne scores with a three punch combo!
Janus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Manne swats him away and circles back towards the center. Janus tries to clinch but Manne is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Puntti Manne dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Puntti Manne's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Let's see if Janus can do anything to dispel that myth.

Janus is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Manne asserts his dominance and retains side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Manne trying to control the position but Janus is working away.
And that's the end of the fight! Puntti Manne showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Manne, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
