Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luan Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabricio Schlemper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schlemper has chosen Zum zum zum as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schlemper closes this distance looking for a takedown but Alves circles away.
Alves slaps away a takedown attempt from Schlemper, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Schlemper fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Luan Alves has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabricio Schlemper.
Schlemper fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Schlemper walks into a stiff left hand from Alves.
Fabricio Schlemper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alves defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Schlemper.

and Alves counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Alves stuffs the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schlemper moves to clinch but Alves breaks away
and Alves counters with a thumping low kick.
Schlemper looks winded!
Alves dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Schlemper. That did some damage!
Schlemper shoots in but no luck this time.
Alves cracks Schlemper with an open hand slap.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Schlemper is trying hard to land a takedown here. Alves sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Alves.

Alves drops Schlemper with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Schlemper looks back up at him and smiles so Alves waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Schlemper is rocked!
Alves cracks Schlemper with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Schlemper looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Alves finish him?
Schlemper is still on wobbly legs! Can Alves finish him?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schlemper fails with the takedown
and Alves counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Schlemper off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Alves follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Schlemper was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Luan Alves!
