Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slade Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Maure (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Slade Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Maure!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Maure. Wilson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Wilson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Maure lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Maure circles away from the clinch attempt.
Wilson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Maure.

Wilson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Wilson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wilson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Maure is looking to get back to his feet here but Wilson is keeping cool and he's managed to take Maure's back.

Wilson is persistently looking for the submission but Maure is defending it well.

Maure is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Wilson gets his way!

Wilson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maure can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round but I would say that Slade Wilson will probably get the nod.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Maure can do anything to dispel that myth.

Wilson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Maure stacks Wilson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Maure!

Maure lands a couple of digs.
Maure wanted to stand there but Wilson had control of the position.

Maure wants to get up but he can't break Wilson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Wilson shoots in looking for a takedown but Maure manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wilson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Maure throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wilson on the side of the head.

Dan Maure seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wilson fails with the takedown.
Maure tries to work over Wilson's front leg with a kick but Wilson checks it.

Wilson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Maure is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Wilson.

I would just about give that final round to Dan Maure.
