Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Javier Ulrich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ulrich comes into the arena with Zambombada blaring out of the sound system. Palmer has chosen Sans Pression - Numero 1 as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Javier Ulrich!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Palmer!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ulrich looks for a takedown but Palmer sprawls well.
Ulrich stuffs the takedown.
Ulrich tries to clinch but Palmer moves out of range.
George Palmer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Palmer waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ulrich.

Palmer drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ulrich sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Ulrich actively working from the bottom here.
Ulrich is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ulrich is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Palmer pulls his head out easily.

A lull in the action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ulrich is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Ulrich is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Nonprofit Vegas Elite $50 ($1000 value), so we'll see if he gets out of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ulrich is working hard here to advance position.
Ulrich is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Palmer wants to pass the guard but Ulrich is defending well.
Palmer not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Ulrich is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Palmer pulls his head out easily.
Palmer content to control rather than advance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Palmer throws a sloppy head kick and Ulrich moves out of range easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
An inside leg kick from Palmer misses.

Ulrich gets caught napping as Palmer dives in and scores a takedown. Ulrich manages to retain guard.
Palmer in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Palmer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ulrich has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Palmer has managed to get both his arms back between Ulrich's legs - danger averted.

Ulrich working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Palmer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Palmer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Palmer is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ulrich has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Palmer is looking to defend but Ulrich has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Palmer! Ulrich pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Palmer taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Javier Ulrich!

Javier Ulrich decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
The defeated George Palmer had this to say: 'Javier, you are just too good and that‘s why you are the champion. I hope we can face again in the future because you are a respectable opponent.'.
