Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Monty Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Melo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown's entrance music is Monster by Skillet. A fine choice. Melo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Fort Minor - Remember the name. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Melo connects with a leg kick. Brown looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Melo throws a series of punches but Brown moves out of range.
Brown throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Melo throws out a loose jab but Brown uses good head movement to avoid it.
Brown shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Melo defends it nicely.
Melo jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Melo misses with a hook. Brown ducked under it nicely.
Melo connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Melo misses with an uppercut.
Melo connects with a looping right hand.
Melo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Brown.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Melo misses with a straight left.
Melo looks to land a combination but Brown avoids it well.

Melo looks to score with a jab to the body but Brown is just out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Melo's head backwards.
We've been hearing reports that Brown has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Felipe Melo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Melo jabbing away but nothing is landing.

and Brown counters with a nice double leg into side control. Melo won't be happy with that.

Brown has an Americana. Melo didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Brown is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Brown hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

A relieved looking Monty Brown thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Felipe Melo was interviewed post fight and said 'I always try and have fun out there, I got holes but hell its fun.'.
