Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Pat Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jakobi Smithy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smithy has chosen Korn- Freak on a Leash as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
28 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Pat Barry!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
21 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jakobi Smithy!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barry misses with a left hand
and Smithy makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Pat Barry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Smithy, right into the meat.
Barry takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Barry feints and then cracks Smithy's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Smithy down.
Smithy takes a swing at Barry's ribcage but misses.
Smithy throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Barry counters with a nice body shot.
Smithy tries to bum rush Barry with a series of wild strikes but Barry uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Barry misses with a right hand
and Smithy counters with an inside leg kick.
Barry lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Barry throws a sloppy head kick and Smithy moves out of range easily.
Barry tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Barry closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Barry throws a punch but it's blocked by Smithy.
Barry lands a damaging elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Barry breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Barry fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smithy.
Barry throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smithy changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
A jab from Barry finds it's way through Smithy's defenses.
Barry has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Super SmashBros. in the buildup to the fight.
Barry moves into the clinch successfully.
Barry swings wildly with an uppercut but Smithy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smithy keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Barry's efforts to push away.
Smithy misses with a shot to the kidneys.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Barry.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Nice body punch from Barry.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Barry with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Barry throws an elbow that misses.
Smithy blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Smithy working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Barry tries to circle away but Smithy has him pinned against the ropes.
Smithy misses with a hook to the ribs.
Barry fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Smithy pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.
Barry swings away with an uppercut that misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Barry trying to stall but Smithy improves his position.
Barry manages to break the clinch.
Smithy throws a body shot but no joy.
Smithy thows a leg kick but Barry checks it
and Barry counters with a head kick. That will keep Smithy thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Barry misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pat Barry dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nice shot lands for Barry.
Barry is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smithy can do to turn this around?
Barry throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smithy.
Barry throws a sloppy head kick
and Smithy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Barry fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Smithy is rocked!
Barry connects with a nice cross there... Smithy is looking wobbly and Barry recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Smithy to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Barry jumps onto the ropes to celebrate with the crowd!

A very excited looking Pat Barry made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
