PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Saladin Hussain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Saladin Hussain has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Saladin Hussain seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into Hussain 's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Hussain is retaining full guard.
Smith makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hussain . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hussain has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Hussain 's legs - danger averted.
Smith stays in close to Hussain 's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith distracts Hussain with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hussain is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Smith has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Hussain to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Smith is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Hussain pulls down on the head and he's put Smith to sleep! This one is all over!
