The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Ortiz wants to sweep but no luck.
Silva passes Ortiz's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ortiz is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Silva is working for a kimura but Ortiz is defending it quite comfortably.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ortiz has his hands clasped together around Silva's back. He's all about the action.

Silva drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ortiz dives on top into guard.

Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ortiz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Silva takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Silva is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ortiz's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Silva has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Ortiz. Oh but Silva has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Ortiz goes limp - he's gone! Silva jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
