Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
37 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jobe Nkemakolam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Deidara Zetsu! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nkemakolam throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Zetsu throws a jab when Nkemakolam was well out of range. Nkemakolam keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
That kick from Zetsu tenderised Nkemakolam's leg. Nkemakolam is trying to keep his angry face on. Zetsu lands with a right hand. Zetsu looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Zetsu takes a swing at Nkemakolam's ribcage but misses. Zetsu keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nkemakolam. Zetsu uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Zetsu drops his hands momentarily and Nkemakolam takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
It looks like Deidara Zetsu has been cut. Deidara Zetsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Zetsu drives through and clinches with Nkemakolam against the cage.

Zetsu is trying to maintain a safe position but Nkemakolam gets an underhook and turns Zetsu into the cage. Zetsu misses with a punch on the inside.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Zetsu tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Nkemakolam's elbow. Nkemakolam gets a trip takedown into half guard. Zetsu trying to control here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Nkemakolam prevents Zetsu from improving his position. Nkemakolam is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Nkemakolam working over Zetsu with some ground and pound. Zetsu looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Nkemakolam throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Nkemakolam looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Zetsu with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Nkemakolam throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Zetsu to regain full guard. Nkemakolam throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zetsu works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zetsu throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nkemakolam works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Zetsu postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Zetsu looking for a sweep. Not yet Zetsu, not yet. Nkemakolam stands and throws Zetsu's legs to the side, diving into side control. Nkemakolam is working Zetsu over with some ground and pound from side control. Nkemakolam is putting a hurting on Zetsu here, landing some big shots from side control. Zetsu gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Nkemakolam landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Nkemakolam throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Nkemakolam is thwarting Zetsu's attempts to control the position.

Zetsu regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Nkemakolam. Nkemakolam throws a big right hand that misses. Nkemakolam postures up and lands a big shot to Zetsu's brow. Nkemakolam loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jobe Nkemakolam dominated that round. The cut man is working on Deidara Zetsu's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Zetsu throws a low kick, looking for Nkemakolam's leg but Nkemakolam calmly moves out of range. Nkemakolam has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Zetsu finds it's way round the side to connect with Nkemakolam's head. A slapping leg kick lands for Nkemakolam.
A jab from Nkemakolam misses. Zetsu scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Nkemakolam turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Zetsu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A low kick from Zetsu misses and Nkemakolam counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Nkemakolam. Nkemakolam trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Nkemakolam throwing strikes from guard but Zetsu blocks nicely. Zetsu keeping moving, preventing Nkemakolam from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zetsu lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Zetsu with a flurry of punches that miss. Zetsu trying to control the position from guard on top but Nkemakolam is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Zetsu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Zetsu throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nkemakolam works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Zetsu working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nkemakolam uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Zetsu. Zetsu pushes Nkemakolam away with a front kick. That's three minutes gone in the round. Zetsu moves out of range of the leg kick from Nkemakolam. Nkemakolam delivers a nice body kick. Zetsu ducks under a wild hook from Nkemakolam. A swing and a miss from Nkemakolam. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Zetsu. A clash of legs there as Zetsu blocks the low kick. Zetsu throws a body kick that misses. Nkemakolam throws a looping overhand right but Zetsu ducks down to avoid it. Nkemakolam misses with an attempted mid kick.
Nkemakolam is looking to slow Zetsu down with leg kicks. Nkemakolam connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Zetsu scores with the left hand. Nkemakolam knows he should have avoided that one. Nkemakolam throws a leg kick that is checked enabling Zetsu to counter with a crisp jab. Zetsu scores with a decent looking hook. Nkemakolam connects with an inside leg kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Zetsu avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Deidara Zetsu seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Nkemakolam connects with an inside leg kick. Zetsu clinches up with Nkemakolam and pushes him back against the cage. A right hand to the body from Zetsu.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A short uppercut from Zetsu. Zetsu prevents a body shot from Nkemakolam. Zetsu landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Zetsu throws a head punch that misses. Nkemakolam scores with an uppercut up the middle. Zetsu has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Zetsu works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Zetsu creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Zetsu unloads a knee to the mid-section. Nkemakolam lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Zetsu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Both fighters circling a little - Zetsu finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Deidara Zetsu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Deidara Zetsu's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Nkemakolam pulls Zetsu in close to his closed guard and prevents Zetsu from doing any damage or advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Nkemakolam tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. A big right from Nkemakolam misses. Nkemakolam misses with a hook. Zetsu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice jab there from Zetsu. Nkemakolam circles away from the clinch attempt so Nkemakolam counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Nkemakolam throws a strike but Zetsu rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Nkemakolam is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Zetsu throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nkemakolam works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight! Deidara Zetsu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Zetsu has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Deidara Zetsu! After the fight, Deidara Zetsu was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
