Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Skip Torres! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cavalcanti fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Torres sprawls well initially but Cavalcanti persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Torres avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cavalcanti. Cavalcanti moves nicely into side control. Cavalcanti in side control lands a decent elbow. Cavalcanti working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cavalcanti working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cavalcanti regains half guard. Cavalcanti's coaches at The Exiled have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Torres seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cavalcanti does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Cavalcanti escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Torres gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Cavalcanti has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Torres is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Cavalcanti. Torres working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cavalcanti regains half guard. Cavalcanti actively working from the bottom here. Torres wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cavalcanti keeps working. Cavalcanti won't allow Torres to pass to mount. Cavalcanti looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Torres works over Cavalcanti's head and body with a nice combination. Cavalcanti tries to score a power double leg takedown but Torres sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cavalcanti somewhat. Torres scores with a crisp jab that stopped Cavalcanti in his tracks. Torres defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cavalcanti. Torres throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cavalcanti counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Torres blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cavalcanti. Cavalcanti prevents Torres from improving his position. Torres is holding on to half guard well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Torres is staying active underneath Cavalcanti, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Torres wants to control but Cavalcanti passes into side.
Cavalcanti has hold of Torres's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Torres tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Cavalcanti cranks the arm and Torres screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Torres, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
