Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seth Duplesris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan comes to the cage accompanied by I'd Love to Knock the Hell out of You by Hank Williams, Jr. Daniel Ryan could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Seth Duplesris's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Ryan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seth Duplesris! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ryan slips under a jab from Duplesris. Duplesris pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Ryan back to the cage. Duplesris follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Daniel Ryan has been cut. Duplesris misses with a body shot.
Seth Duplesris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Duplesris throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Duplesris blocks a head kick by Ryan.
Ryan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Duplesris sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ryan somewhat. Duplesris throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. A jab from Duplesris misses. Ryan lands with a hook. Duplesris tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
It looks like Seth Duplesris has been cut. Ryan misses with a body kick. Duplesris swinging wildly here.
Ryan defending well as Duplesris loads up on a big left hand. Ryan scores with a takedown into Duplesris's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Duplesris is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ryan is aware though and is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ryan being controlled here momentarily. Ryan with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Ryan is looking to work some ground and pound but Duplesris has wrist control. Ryan scoring with some ground and pound. Ryan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Ryan trying to control the position from guard on top but Duplesris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ryan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ryan has gone for a leg lock! Duplesris slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ryan's guard. Duplesris tries to stand but Ryan is controlling from the bottom. Duplesris trying to control the position from guard on top but Ryan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duplesris throws a big elbow that misses. Duplesris looking to sit in guard and control but Ryan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ryan won't allow Duplesris to sweep him here. Duplesris not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Duplesris with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Ryan can't handle though.
Duplesris trying to keep a closed guard but Ryan is proving a slippery customer.
Ryan wants to pass the guard but Duplesris is keeping the position. Ryan's corner is telling him to maintain position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ryan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ryan passes into half guard. Duplesris is looking to control Ryan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Duplesris avoid being mounted?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ryan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Duplesris is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Ryan has latched onto it... Big trouble! Ryan pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Duplesris is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Ryan!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Daniel Ryan! Daniel Ryan decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
