Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tomas Kalnoky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pawel Nastula! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nastula circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nastula dives in and grabs Kalnoky's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kalnoky pushes down on Nastula's head and hops out. Nastula shoots and misses and Kalnoky counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Nastula avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nastula with a lazy takedown attempt and Kalnoky moves into the clinch. Tomas Kalnoky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pawel Nastula. Kalnoky lands a knee to the head.
Kalnoky is pressed up against the cage. Nastula has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kalnoky down to the mat. Kalnoky avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Kalnoky definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. The fight stays on the outside here - Kalnoky looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kalnoky wants to clinch. Nastula tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kalnoky swivels and escapes. Nastula shoots and misses and Kalnoky connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Nastula tries for a takedown but Kalnoky circles away easily and Kalnoky cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Kalnoky clinches up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kalnoky misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Nastula.
Nastula is working for takedown but Kalnoky is calmly controlling the position for now. Kalnoky breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nastula misses with a takedown attempt and Kalnoky counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kalnoky. Kalnoky scores a nice knee to the body.
Nastula looks winded! Kalnoky is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Kalnoky connects with a nasty looking knee right to Nastula's face.

Kalnoky has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head and Nastula goes down! Kalnoky dives on top of him - Nastula manages to get guard.
Nastula is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kalnoky content to stall in guard here. Nastula is still in real trouble! Can Kalnoky finish him? Kalnoky lands a couple of elbows. Kalnoky loads up on a big left hand. Nastula felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Kalnoky looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Nastula can't hide his disappointment, as Kalnoky celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tomas Kalnoky! An out of breath Tomas Kalnoky thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
