Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Dagger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Flight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Flight has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jim Dagger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Thomas Flight! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flight connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dagger's hands. Dagger shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Flight counters with a nice body kick.
Dagger misses the shot to the body. Flight connects with a body shot. Dagger throws out a leg kick but Flight moves out of range and Dagger only half commits. Dagger tries for a takedown but Flight circles away easily and Flight cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Dagger moves into range and connects with a jab. Dagger swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Dagger drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dagger lands a couple of decent looking shots. Dagger pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Flight is keeping the position for now. Dagger prevents Flight from getting back to his feet. Flight keeping moving, preventing Dagger from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dagger throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Flight works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Flight preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Flight wants to stand but Dagger is controlling the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. A big right from Flight misses. Dagger tries for a takedown but Flight sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Dagger. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dagger uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Flight. Dagger walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Flight scores with a shot to the body.
Dagger throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Flight's waist but Flight gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dagger off to one side. Dagger rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Flight counters with a body kick. Flight misses with a straight right. Dagger misses with a double jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A chopping leg kick lands by Flight. Dagger avoids a kick to the body.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Flight enables Dagger to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Flight manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dagger won't allow Flight to get back to his feet. Dagger forces his way into half guard. Dagger stops Flight from getting back to his feet.
Dagger is trying to control the action in half guard but Flight is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Flight is looking to escape. Dagger landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Dagger content to control rather than advance. Flight tries to kick Dagger off in order to stand up. Dagger Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dagger in side control lands a decent elbow. Dagger wants to lay and pray for a moment but Flight keeps working. Dagger working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Dagger trying to control the position but Flight is working away. Dagger in side control, throwing shots but Flight defends. Flight is pushing Dagger's head away, looking to escape. Dagger manages to hold on to the position though. Dagger wants to control but Flight is keeping him busy. Flight is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dagger is controlling him well. Dagger trying to control the position but Flight is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Flight wants to control but Dagger postures up. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Flight wants to get back to his feet but Dagger drags him back down.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Dagger shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Flight as he avoids it easily. Dagger misses with a body kick. Flight lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Flight. Dagger feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Flights jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Dagger fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Dagger shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Flight defends it nicely. Flight takes a shot right to the bread basket. Dagger throws a hook but Flight avoids it easily. Dagger shoots in for a takedown but Flight shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Flight lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. A telegraphed right hand from Dagger misses the target. Flight tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dagger paws at him with a jab and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jim Dagger will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Dagger not landing any meaningful shots this time. Dagger throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Flight wants to get back to his feet. Dagger not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dagger wants to control but Flight is keeping him busy.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Dagger tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Flight throws a head kick that misses. Flight misses with a series of wild punches.
Flight lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dagger shoots in looking for a takedown but Flight manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dagger's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Thomas Flight seems to be getting the better of the standup. Dagger will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Flight keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Dagger. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dagger lands a nice leg kick that just misses Flight's sensitive parts. Flight throws a body shot but no joy. Flight tries a head kick but it misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Flight throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Dagger's head. Dagger throws the kick towards the body but Flight avoids it. Flight swings for the body but Dagger moves out of range.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Flight clinches up with Dagger and pushes him back against the cage. Flight letting Dagger take a breather here. Flight misses with a punch to the body.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Dagger. Dagger is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Flight. Flight breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dagger tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Dagger doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Flight defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dagger. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Flight throws out a powerful jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dagger circles away from the clinch attempt.
Flight closes the distance and pushes Dagger back into the cage. Flight doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Flight tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dagger's elbow. Flight goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Flight tries to clinch but Dagger moves out of range. Flight connects with the punch. Dagger has his takedown stuffed and Dagger takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Dagger darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Dagger tries to pass to full mount but Flight defends it. Flight is not content to let Dagger control the position. Jim Dagger overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dagger tries to pass the half guard into mount. Flight knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Flight has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Dagger is on him like a limpet, forcing Flight back against the cage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dagger blocks a body shot from Flight. Good body shot from Flight.
Dagger wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Flight has him pressed against the cage. Dagger tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Flight throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. A head punch on the inside from Dagger fails to land. Flight works on Dagger's body with a couple of short punches. Flight lands a nice shot to the body. Flight lands a shot to the body. Dagger misses with a hook from the clinch. Flight lands with a short shot to the head. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Flight misses with a punch to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thomas Flight showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Dagger is trying hard to land a takedown here. Flight sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Flight ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dagger moves away. Flight cracks Dagger with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Dagger takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Flight displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dagger throws out the jab. Dagger moves forwards but Flight connects with a nice, crisp jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flight throws a looping overhand right but Dagger ducks down to avoid it. A shot to the liver by Flight. Beautiful body shot. Flight tries to clinch up. Dagger is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Flight's half guard. Flight wants to get back to his feet.
Flight makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Flight bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Dagger's head backwards. Dagger looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Dagger shoots in looking for a takedown. Flight tries to sprawl out of it but Dagger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Flight manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Dagger avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A combination from Dagger does no damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dagger tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Flight swivels and escapes. Flight misses with a kick to the body.
Dagger digs a good body shot into Flight's ribs. Flight connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dagger momentarily.
Dagger shoots in for a takedown but Flight shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Dagger changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Flight tries to avoid it but Dagger manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Flight to the ground. Flight escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A jab from Flight finds it's way through Dagger's defenses. Dagger takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A jab from Flight does it's job there. Flight tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dagger swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dagger shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Flight as he avoids it easily. Nice cross by Flight. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Flight lands with a straight right. Dagger didn't see that one coming. Flight stuffs the takedown attempt from Dagger. Dagger gets slowly back to his feet. Dagger on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Dagger is rocked!
And that's the end of the fight! Thomas Flight comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Flight has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
