PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raymond Crowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Henderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crowe comes to the cage accompanied by Mustasch - Bring Me Everyone. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Raymond Crowe!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Henderson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henderson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Crowe as he avoids it easily.
Henderson fails with the takedown.
Henderson shoots in for a double leg but Crowe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Raymond Crowe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chad Henderson.
Henderson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Crowe connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Henderson momentarily.
Henderson closes the distance and clinches up with Crowe, looking for a takedown. Henderson pushes Crowe against the cage but Crowe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Crowe thuds a left hand into Henderson's body.

Henderson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Crowe finds it's way round the side to connect with Henderson's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Henderson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Henderson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Henderson shoots in but Crowe avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Henderson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Crowe cracks Henderson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Henderson looks for a takedown but Crowe sprawls well.

Henderson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Crowe!
Crowe tries to hold on but Henderson pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Henderson trying to control but Crowe is having none of it.
Crowe is desperately trying to improve his position but Henderson has a good base and remains in mount.

Henderson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Crowe is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Crowe and Henderson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Henderson swings around for an armbar but Crowe sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Henderson's guard.
Henderson looks gassed!
Henderson is trying to keep Crowe in close.
Crowe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Henderson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Henderson has his foot on Crowe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Crowe works his way back into a safe position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Henderson is looking for a triangle but Crowe pushes his legs off easily.
Crowe controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Crowe wants to get up but he can't break Henderson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Crowe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Crowe slips nicely into half guard.
Crowe trying to control the action but Henderson is working from the bottom.
Crowe with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Henderson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Henderson has an active guard here but Crowe has managed to pass into half guard.

Henderson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Henderson tries to roll over but Crowe keeps him under control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Crowe tries to stand but can't do so whilst Henderson controls his leg.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Henderson actively working from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raymond Crowe dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Crowe stuffs the takedown attempt from Henderson. Henderson gets slowly back to his feet.
Crowe lands a nice shot that snaps Henderson's head back.
A jab lands there for Crowe.
Crowe swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Henderson.
Henderson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Crowe swivels and escapes.
Crowe scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Henderson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Crowe finds it's way round the side to connect with Henderson's head.
Crowe lands with a shot to the body.
Raymond Crowe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Crowe cracks Henderson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Henderson shoots in for a double leg but Crowe sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Crowe tests Henderson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A jab from Crowe finds it's way through Henderson's defenses.
Crowe uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Crowe is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Henderson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Crowe but Crowe pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Henderson shoots for a double leg takedown but Crowe sprawls well. He's pushed Henderson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Henderson is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Crowe moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Crowe here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Crowe lands with a big left! Henderson is wobbled badly! Crowe comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Henderson to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Raymond Crowe!
Raymond Crowe retains his heavyweight title!
