Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Hazard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Alexander Gustafsson! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Daniel Franklin and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hazard is looking to land body kicks. Nice takedown defense from Gustafsson. No joy for Hazard on that attempt. Gustafsson blocks a head kick by Hazard.
John Hazard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hazard misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gustafsson on the wrong end of a nice hook. Gustafsson dodges the punch combination from Hazard.
Hazard throws a series of punches but Gustafsson avoids them all with ease. Gustafsson fails with a takedown attempt. Horrible takedown attempt by Gustafsson or perhaps it was just good defense by Hazard, which made it look bad. Hazard seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hazard throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Hazard misses with a few strikes there.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hazard fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hazard leaves Gustafsson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. John Hazard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Gustafsson. Gustafsson looks winded! Hazard pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A combination from Hazard does no damage. Hazard fails to land with a series of punches.
Hazard misses with a double jab.
Gustafsson throws a right hand that Hazard ducks under and follows up with a left that Hazard also avoids with ease. Hazard moves in looking to clinch but Gustafsson pushes him off. Hazard wants to clinch up but Gustafsson keeps it at a distance. Hazard looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hazard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gustafsson walks into a straight right hand from Hazard. Hazard feints a jab promting Gustafsson to slip. Hazard then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gustafsson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The fight moves into the clinch position. Gustafsson has Hazard pushed against the cage. Hazard escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gustafsson takes one to the chin there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gustafsson darts in looking for a takedown but Hazard gets double underhooks and turns Gustafsson into the cage. Hazard is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Gustafsson is defending well. Gustafsson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Hazard has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gustafsson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hazard controls the pace. We've been informed that Gustafsson has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Hazard wants to stand but Gustafsson is controlling his posture from full guard. Gustafsson working for submissions but it's allowed Hazard to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hazard is looking to advance position but Gustafsson won't allow it. Hazard wants to get back to his feet.
Hazard prevents Gustafsson from standing back up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hazard trying to control the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Hazard dominated that round. That's time! Hazard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Hazard throws a head kick that misses. Hazard throws a series of strikes that have Gustafsson backpedaling.
Hazard pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hazard throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Gustafsson crashing down! Gustafsson tries to stagger back to his feet but Hazard just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Gustafsson asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Hazard!
