Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mason Darnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Komab (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Darnell closes the distance and clinches.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Darnell just misses with a elbow thrown towards Komab's brow.

Komab has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Darnell regains guard immediately.
Darnell keeping moving, preventing Komab from controlling successfully.
Komab controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Darnell wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Komab pushing down on Darnell's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Darnell wants to improve his position but Komab is controlling well.
Komab trying to mount his opponent but Darnell defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Komab is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Komab sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Darnell is trying to stand up.
Darnell is squirming around, avoiding Komab's attempts to control the action.
Darnell tries to hold on but Komab postures up.

Darnell is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Komab moves to the back position.
Darnell trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

What can Darnell do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Darnell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Komab on the ground.

Komab is working for a rear naked choke. Darnell is not defending it well and Komab has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Darnell refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Darnell's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
