Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Caio Cobrero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Well Rounded (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Caio Cobrero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Well Rounded!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cobrero avoids the body shot from Rounded.

Cobrero fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rounded to the ground. Cobrero is now in Rounded's guard.

Cobrero drops back looking for a leg! Rounded is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rounded manages to kick Cobrero off! Cobrero jumps back into Rounded's guard.
Rounded utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cobrero is looking to work some ground and pound but Rounded has wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cobrero decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Cobrero throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rounded tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cobrero is in Rounded's guard.
Cobrero engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rounded wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Cobrero manages to pass to side control.
Well, if Cobrero is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cobrero's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Rounded swings for the body but Cobrero moves out of range.
Cobrero moves out of range as Rounded strikes.

Cobrero looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cobrero is taking a breather. Rounded says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Cobrero could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Cobrero escapes and gets back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rounded stuns Cobrero with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Cobrero closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cobrero lands in his opponent's guard.
Cobrero connects with a couple of short punches.
Cobrero is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Cobrero gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Caio Cobrero dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Rounded looks to score with a jab to the body but Cobrero is just out of range.
Rounded throws a big shot that misses.
Cobrero ducks under a wild hook from Rounded.
Rounded swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cobrero gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Rounded tries to sprawl but Cobrero drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Cobrero seems to be looking for submissions.
Cobrero stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cobrero is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rounded defends it well.

Cobrero works his way into full mount!
Cobrero lands a big elbow.
Cobrero throws some wild stikes that Rounded manages to avoid easily.
Rounded is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rounded is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Cobrero has taken his back!

Rounded is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Rounded covering up well and avoiding damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rounded is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Cobrero controlling the positon.
Cobrero seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rounded for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rounded avoids the strikes from Cobrero.

Cobrero has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Rounded has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Rounded covering up well under a series of strikes from Cobrero.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cobrero working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Caio Cobrero dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Rounded throws out a loose jab but Cobrero uses good head movement to avoid it.

Cobrero shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cobrero was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cobrero lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Rounded down.
Cobrero is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rounded can do to turn this around?

Cobrero stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Cobrero uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rounded.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cobrero avoids the body shot from Rounded.
Rounded misses the jab.

Cobrero manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rounded on his heels. He'll look to pass Rounded's guard now, I'm sure.
Cobrero might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cobrero is stalling in the full guard.

Rounded utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Cobrero gets to his feet - Rounded follows without any prompting.
Cobrero fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rounded avoids it really well and circles away.

Rounded gets caught napping as Cobrero dives in and scores a takedown. Rounded manages to retain guard.

Cobrero stands and steps away. Rounded gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Cobrero tries to clinch but Rounded is having none of it.
Nice takedown defense from Rounded. No joy for Cobrero on that attempt.

Rounded misses with an uppercut. Cobrero saw that one coming.
Rounded swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rounded fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cobrero manages to avoid it.
Rounded throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rounded just misses with a punch to the body.
Rounded takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Cobrero closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rounded's guard.
Cobrero trying to control the position from guard on top but Rounded is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cobrero stands up from Rounded's guard - Cobrero perhaps looking for a knockout.

Cobrero shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cobrero tries to pass to full mount but Rounded defends it.
Well Rounded has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cobrero slows the pace down in half guard.
Cobrero has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Cobrero is working for a kimura but Rounded is defending it quite comfortably.
Caio Cobrero overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cobrero is taking a breather. Rounded says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Caio Cobrero showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cobrero, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
