Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Noah Puckerman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesse Custer!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Custer lands a right hook to the body.
Custer misses with an uppercut.
Puckerman ducks under a wild hook from Custer.
Custer works Puckerman's body with a nice hook.
Custer with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Custer throws a leg kick which misses Puckerman's front leg but catches the back leg as Puckerman tries to avoid it.
Puckerman checks a leg kick.
Custer misses with a hook. Puckerman ducked under it nicely.
Custer feints a jab promting Puckerman to slip. Custer then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Puckerman slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.


It looks like Noah Puckerman has been cut.
Custer thows a leg kick but Puckerman checks it
and Puckerman counters with a right hand to the body.
Jesse Custer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A low kick from Custer is predictable there
and Puckerman counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Custer thinking.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Custer tries a low kick but Puckerman avoids it.
Custer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Puckerman manages to avoid it.

Puckerman moves into the clinch successfully.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Puckerman.
Custer swings wildly with an uppercut but Puckerman uses good head movement to avoid it.

Custer lands with a right to the head.
Puckerman swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Custer throws a punch but it's blocked by Puckerman.

Custer can't break the clinch.
Custer takes a shot to the head.
Custer has a couple of punches blocked by Puckerman.
Puckerman prevents a body shot from Custer.
Puckerman lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Custer backwards.
Puckerman tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Custer blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Puckerman lands a left hand that snaps the head of Custer backwards.

Custer tries to break free but Puckerman pushes him back against the cage.

Puckerman pushes Custer back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

I was talking to Puckerman's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Puckerman tries to throw a body punch but Custer avoids it by throwing Puckerman back against the cage.
Puckerman is leaning against Custer and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Puckerman throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Custer takes a shot to the head.
Custer tries to work over Puckerman's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Come on Custer - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Puckerman misses with a short punch on the inside.

Custer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Custer with a jab.
Custer walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Puckerman checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Puckerman looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Puckerman lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Jesse Custer has been cut.
Puckerman pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

and Custer counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Puckerman!

Puckerman wants to hit a switch here but Custer passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Puckerman there!
Puckerman is wriggling around trying to escape.
Puckerman is working hard here to advance position.
Puckerman gets back to half guard.
Puckerman wants to control the action here but instead Custer manages to pass to full mount!
Puckerman takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.


Puckerman is rocked!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Puckerman is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesse Custer dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Puckerman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Custer counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Puckerman!
An elbow from Custer crashes against the mat.
Puckerman takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.


Noah Puckerman's cut is getting worse.
Custer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Puckerman on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Oh Puckerman is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!


Noah Puckerman's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Puckerman is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Custer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Puckerman keeps working.
Puckerman seems to have got his legs back now.
Puckerman is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Custer's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Custer throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Puckerman to regain full guard.
Custer is working Puckerman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.


Jeez, Noah Puckerman's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Noah Puckerman's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

After winning the bout, Jesse Custer thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
