Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Diego Brandao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Diego Brandao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyson Pearson!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandao misses with an uppercut. Pearson saw that one coming.
Pearson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Brandao stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brandao wants it to stay on the feet.
Brandao has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Brandao swings for the body but Pearson moves out of range.

Pearson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brandao looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Pearson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Brandao has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pearson but great work by Brandao.

Pearson manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Brandao keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Brandao is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pearson is aware though and is defending well.

Brandao is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pearson defends well.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brandao is looking for a triangle but Pearson pushes his legs off easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pearson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Pearson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Brandao dives on top into guard.

Pearson is staying active underneath Brandao, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That was a close round but I would say that Diego Brandao will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Brandao looks to land a left hand but Pearson moved out of range nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Pearson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Brandao is working for a submission of some sort.
Brandao wants to take a breather but Pearson is having none of it.

I think Brandao has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
