Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tony Gibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Amps (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Gibbs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kris Amps! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amps looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Gibbs makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gibbs. Gibbs is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Amps is aware though and is defending well. Amps would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Gibbs is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Amps wants to stand but Gibbs has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amps working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Gibbs controlling Amps's posture.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Some wild striking there from Amps.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Amps tries to bum rush Gibbs with a series of wild strikes but Gibbs uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Some wild striking there from Amps.
Gibbs tries to keep at a distance but Amps has taken the fight into the clinch. Gibbs swings away with an uppercut that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gibbs prevents Amps from breaking the clinch. Amps tries to pull guard but Gibbs holds him up against the cage and eventually Amps drops back down to his feet.

A close round but Kris Amps will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Amps scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Amps lands with a nice combination. Gibbs backs away looking to recover. Amps rushes Gibbs and presses him up against the cage. Gibbs is looking for a takedown. Gibbs has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Gibbs is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Amps pulls him back up using the underhooks. Amps's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Amps tries for a takedown but Gibbs sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. An inside leg kick lands from Amps. Amps displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Amps fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gibbs avoids it really well and circles away. Amps gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gibbs tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Amps just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tony Gibbs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Amps blocks the elbow strike.
Amps is defending well against a takedown attempt. Gibbs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Gibbs decides to pull guard. Gibbs is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Amps stands and steps away. Gibbs gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Amps has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Amps is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Gibbs keeps control of Amps as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Gibbs breaks the clinch.

Amps shoots for a double leg takedown but Gibbs sprawls well. He's pushed Amps's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Amps moves into the clinch successfully.
Gibbs has Amps pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gibbs pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Amps tumbling to the mat - Gibbs dives into Amps's guard. Gibbs missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gibbs has gone for a leg lock! Amps slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gibbs's guard. Gibbs has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kris Amps showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Amps tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gibbs sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Amps somewhat. Amps dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gibbs. That did some damage! Amps throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gibbs stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Amps closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Gibbs drops down looking for an ankle pick but Amps pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gibbs wants to take the fight to the mat but Amps manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Gibbs tries for a takedown but Amps manages to get underhooks.

Gibbs tries to keep at a distance but Amps has taken the fight into the clinch. Gibbs is trying to drag Amps to the mat but Amps just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Gibbs tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Amps avoids it. Amps breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Amps connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gibbs's hands. Tony Gibbs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kris Amps is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Amps pushes Gibbs up against the cage in a clinch.
