Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Denis Burns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wojtek Stachelek! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stachelek looks to land a combination but Burns avoids it well. Stachelek has his takedown stuffed and Stachelek takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Stachelek takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Stachelek tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Burns swivels and escapes. Stachelek looks winded! Stachelek throws an off balance right hand
and Burns counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stachelek won't be happy with that. Burns cracks Stachelek with a big right hand but Stachelek just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Burns definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Burns lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stachelek being controlled for a moment. Burns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burns advances to mount. Burns tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Burns looking for a guillotine from mount but Stachelek is having none of it. Burns lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. BOOM! Burns connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Burns lands a nice shot to the head. Burns sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Burns dominating with strikes here. Burns controlling the pace for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burns with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns landing strikes from the mount. Burns scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Stachelek?
Burns throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Stachelek has his hands clasped together but Burns breaks the hold and Stachelek is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Burns!
