Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Byrd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes to the cage accompanied by "Eyes of A Ranger". Byrd comes into a darkened arena with his song building. "Rough Riders" By DMX kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mario Byrd! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee looks to land a combination but Byrd avoids it well. Lee instigates a clinch. Byrd prevents the takedown attempt.
A short body shot lands from Lee as the two fighters clinch.
The referee calls for Byrd to work.
Lee tries to pull guard but Byrd won't allow it.
Byrd tries to throw a body punch but Lee avoids it by throwing Byrd back against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Byrd tries for a takedown but Lee manages to get underhooks.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Byrd tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Byrd is leaning against Lee and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Lee is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Byrd gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chuck Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lee goes for a takedown attempt but Byrd pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lee gets a clinch. Lee is pressed up against the cage. Byrd has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lee down to the mat. Lee avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Lee gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Lee drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Byrd gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lee has picked Byrd up - he's going for a ride! Lee dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Lee prevents Byrd from improving his position. Byrd is not content to let Lee control the position. Byrd is looking for a sweep. Lee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Byrd keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lee is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Byrd is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Lee pulls his head out easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lee misses with a wild combination.
Byrd throws a body punch but Lee moves out of range. Byrd shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Lee prevents Byrd from taking his back. Byrd looking to secure an arm triangle but Lee defends it well. Byrd looks gassed! Lee tries to hold on but Byrd postures up. Lee working to try and regain half guard.
Byrd swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lee is now in Byrd's guard. A big mistake from Byrd there, giving up the dominant position! Lee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Byrd had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lee is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Byrd Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lee's back instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Despite being in a bad position, Lee is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts. Byrd is looking for the choke from the back position but Lee is controlling his hands well. Lee trying to control but not successfully. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Byrd working for a choke but Lee is defending well. Byrd is trying to stick to Lee's back but Lee is turning into Byrd. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Byrd's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Lee. Lee is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Byrd is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lee is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Byrd is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Lee is really struggling to control Byrd but he's trying to hold on to the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Byrd tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lee paws at him with a jab and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chuck Lee dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Lee throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Byrd fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lee manages to avoid it. Chuck Lee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lee gets a clinch. Still in the clinch, Lee scores with a nice short uppercut. Byrd wants to stall.
Lee tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Byrd drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lee pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lee gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Lee has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Byrd clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! I really don't envy Byrd right now.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Chuck Lee just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Lee cracks Byrd with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Byrd misses the jab. Lee lands a jab to the nose. Byrd looks for a takedown but Lee sprawls well. Lee instigates a clinch.

Byrd fails in his attempt to clinch. Horrible takedown by Byrd or perhaps it was just good defense by Lee which made him look bad. Chuck Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mario Byrd. Lee looks to score with a jab to the body but Byrd is just out of range. Byrd misses with a body shot
and Lee counters with a straight right hand. Byrd takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch but Byrd swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Byrd takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. The fighters circling - Lee throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Lee throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Byrd. Lee scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Lee tries to keep at a distance but Byrd has taken the fight into the clinch. Lee throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Byrds head. Byrd tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Lee is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Byrd is keeping busy. Lee pulls guard successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lee lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Lee wants to stand and escape but Byrd is having none of it. Byrd forces his way into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lee controlling the position well. Lee wants to get back to his feet.
Lee is looking to control Byrd's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lee avoid being mounted? The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Byrd working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Lee's thigh. Lee counters though and makes it back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chuck Lee dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Byrd doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up but Byrd swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lee darts in and clinches Byrd up against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Lee wants a takedown.
Lee has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Byrd avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Lee prevents a body shot from Byrd. Lee just leaning against Byrd, taking a breather. Byrd stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Lee makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Lee fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Byrd is looking to control Lee's arms but Lee gets an underhook and turns him. Now Byrd has his back to the cage. A short right hand to the side of the head by Lee. Byrd content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Byrd stalling in the clinch but Lee improves position. Byrd misses with a hook to the ribs.
Lee lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Lee is trying to break the clinch but Byrd has him pressed against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee is trying to maintain a safe position but Byrd gets an underhook and turns Lee into the cage. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Byrd takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Lee jumps into guard, dragging Byrd to the mat.

Byrd drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lee dives on top into guard. Byrd is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lee trying to control but Byrd is working from the bottom. Lee is stalling in the full guard. Byrd is looking for a triangle but Lee pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee wants to control from the top but Byrd keeps moving. Byrd is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lee tries to stand but Byrd is controlling from the bottom. Lee preventing the sweep.

Lee misses with a hook. Byrd ducked under it nicely. Lee scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Byrd fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Lee displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Lee misses with a few strikes there.
Byrd changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lee looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Lee is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Byrd is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lee knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Lee struggling a bit here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Byrd looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Lee struggling a bit here. Mario Byrd has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Byrd tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Byrd has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Chuck Lee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lee regains half guard, as Byrd was trying to land strikes.
And that's the end of the fight! Chuck Lee showed his dominance in that final round. Well Lee has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
