Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Punchy McDrunk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kid Pichugo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Punchy McDrunk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kid Pichugo! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McDrunk gets caught flat footed, as Pichugo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Pichugo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McDrunk is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. McDrunk tries to land a sweep but no joy. McDrunk pushes Pichugo off and scrambles back to his feet.
McDrunk darts in and clinches Pichugo up against the cage. McDrunk's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Pichugo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pichugo tries to pull guard but McDrunk forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Pichugo displaying some good clinch control by pressing McDrunk up against the cage. McDrunk working hard to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. McDrunk escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pichugo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McDrunk circles away quickly and effectively. McDrunk scores with a spinning back kick! McDrunk throws a series of punches but Pichugo avoids them all with ease. McDrunk misses with a combination
and Pichugo counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Pichugo rushes McDrunk and presses him up against the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Maybe McDrunk would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much. McDrunk dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with McDrunk for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. Pichugo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables McDrunk to keep the fight standing. Pichugo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McDrunk smiles and moves away.
Punchy McDrunk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kid Pichugo. McDrunk takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. A thudding body kick lands there by Pichugo!
McDrunk tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. McDrunk gets a clinch. McDrunk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McDrunk throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pichugo. McDrunk lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Pichugo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pichugo gets in close and instigates a clinch. Pichugo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
McDrunk breaks from the clinch.
McDrunk takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. McDrunk dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Pichugo closes the distance and clinches up with McDrunk, looking for a takedown. Pichugo pushes McDrunk against the cage but McDrunk circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Pichugo looks winded! McDrunk swinging wildly here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pichugo gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. McDrunk obliges. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pichugo wants to stall.
McDrunk wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
McDrunk wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pichugo has him pressed against the cage. Pichugo goes for a takedown attempt but McDrunk pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Pichugo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McDrunk defends it nicely. McDrunk closes the distance and pushes Pichugo back into the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Punchy McDrunk dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
A combination from McDrunk does no damage. Pichugo keeps McDrunk at a distance using the push kick. McDrunk gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Pichugo to score an easy takedown into full guard. McDrunk pushes Pichugo off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. A combination from Pichugo does no damage. A good leg kick by McDrunk. McDrunk bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pichugo's head backwards. McDrunk has managed to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pichugo jumps guard and drags McDrunk to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. McDrunk wants to get up but he can't break Pichugo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Pichugo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Kid Pichugo has got the better of the ground game so far. McDrunk being controlled here momentarily. Pichugo is breathing heavily. McDrunk decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. McDrunk scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. McDrunk turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Pichugo dodges the punch combination from McDrunk.
Punchy McDrunk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pichugo moves into the clinch. Pichugo lands a takedown into guard.
Pichugo tries to free his leg and advance position but McDrunk is retaining full guard. Pichugo prevents McDrunk from getting back to his feet. McDrunk wants to sweep here but Pichugo controlling him for the moment. McDrunk might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. McDrunk keeping moving, preventing Pichugo from controlling successfully. Pichugo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McDrunk is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. McDrunk wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Pichugo tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but McDrunk defends well and Pichugo ends up having to push McDrunk into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. McDrunk breaks the clinch.
McDrunk blocks the body kick.
McDrunk closes the distance and clinches. McDrunk tries to land knees in the clinch but Pichugo avoids the damage to the body. Pichugo fails to pull guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McDrunk stalling the fight.
McDrunk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. McDrunk misses with the combination.
McDrunk throws a combination that misses and Pichugo counters with a head kick. That will keep McDrunk thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! McDrunk is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pichugo can do to turn this around? Pichugo tries to score a power double leg takedown but McDrunk sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pichugo somewhat. Punchy McDrunk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kid Pichugo. McDrunk scores with a hook. McDrunk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pichugo sprawls well. Pichugo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McDrunk gets slowly back to his feet. Kid Pichugo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pichugo circles away from the clinch attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Punchy McDrunk dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
A head kick misses from Pichugo. Pichugo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McDrunk was well out of range. Poor timing from Pichugo. Pichugo clinches up with McDrunk and pushes him back against the cage. Pichugo is working for takedown but McDrunk is calmly controlling the position for now. Pichugo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McDrunk smiles and moves away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McDrunk shoots in looking for a takedown but Pichugo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McDrunk's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. McDrunk misses with a body kick. Pichugo darts in looking for a takedown but McDrunk gets double underhooks and turns Pichugo into the cage. Punchy McDrunk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kid Pichugo. Pichugo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. McDrunk trying to land knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. McDrunk content to slow the pace in the clinch.
McDrunk manages to break the clinch.
Pichugo throws a head kick that misses. McDrunk throws a series of strikes that have Pichugo backpedaling.

and Pichugo counters with a nice leg kick. McDrunk goes for a double leg but Pichugo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pichugo continues to drive forward. Pichugo misses with a knee to the head. A knee to the head by Pichugo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pichugo prevents a body shot from McDrunk. McDrunk lands a good knee to the midsection. Pichugo won't want to take too many of those. Punchy McDrunk has scored more points in the clinch so far. Pichugo blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. McDrunk breaks the clinch.
Pichugo drives through and clinches with McDrunk against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pichugo wants to take the fight to the mat but McDrunk manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. McDrunk wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pichugo has him pressed against the cage. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as McDrunk takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Pichugo tries to score a body lock takedown but McDrunk shows good agility there to stay on his feet. McDrunk lands an elbow inside that Pichugo shrugs off. Punchy McDrunk is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Pichugo pulls guard effortlessly. McDrunk trying to control but Pichugo is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McDrunk has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pichugo is proving hard to escape from. McDrunk controlling from the top position. McDrunk looking to sit in guard and control but Pichugo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. McDrunk looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. McDrunk has his feet on Pichugo's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Pichugo shoots in looking for a takedown. McDrunk tries to sprawl out of it but Pichugo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McDrunk manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. McDrunk tries to clinch there but Pichugo circles away.
McDrunk ducks down and throws a hook to the body. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McDrunk goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Pichugo shoots in but McDrunk avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Punchy McDrunk showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McDrunk, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Punchy McDrunk decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
