Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Uriah Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uriah Farber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Farber has chosen "Keep Me" by The Black Keys as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Uriah Cruz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Uriah Farber! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Cruz trying to control from half guard but Farber is working away. Farber trying to control but Cruz postures up.
Farber makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Farber. Farber keeping moving, preventing Cruz from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Farber pulls Cruz in close to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Farber is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cruz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Cruz trying to control the position from guard on top but Farber is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Farber gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cruz to score an easy takedown into full guard. Farber keeping moving, preventing Cruz from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Farber wants to hit a switch here but Cruz passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Farber there! Cruz has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Farber's face.
Cruz has hold of Farber's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Farber manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Farber tries to lock up and control but Cruz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Farber is looking to get to half guard. Cruz lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Cruz is standing up, even though he is in mount. Cruz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Farber did well to prevent Cruz getting side control. Still in half guard, Cruz seems content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cruz not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Cruz is keen to just control but Farber is a slippery customer. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Farber tries to get to full guard but Cruz has control of the leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cruz shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Farber is concentrating on defense, preventing Cruz from advancing position. Cruz moves into full mount! Farber won't be happy about that! Cruz landing strikes from the mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Farber is squirming around, avoiding Cruz's attempts to control the action. Uriah Cruz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cruz lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
That's one minute gone in the round. Farber is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Cruz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cruz wants to control the pace but Farber is squirming around nicely. Cruz working the ground and pound effectively.
Cruz controlling the pace for now. Cruz trying to control but Farber is having none of it. Farber really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cruz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cruz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Farber can do to turn this around?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cruz with a couple of short strikes. Cruz sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Cruz with the ground and pound from mount. Cruz wants to control the pace but Farber is squirming around nicely. Cruz working Farber over with strikes here. Farber wants to control but Cruz is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cruz cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Cruz avoids the attempt from Farber to control. Farber working to try and regain half guard.
Farber looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cruz trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Farber doesn't escape. Cruz looking for the choke but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Farber can't escape the position.

Uriah Cruz dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Cruz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cruz lands in his opponent's guard. Farber keeping moving, preventing Cruz from controlling successfully. Farber is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Cruz landing strikes. Cruz tries to score with some ground and pound. Farber controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Cruz in side control, just content to control the action for now. Farber is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Cruz is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Cruz working for a guillotine from mount but Farber is in no mood to give up. Cruz controlling from mount. Farber is looking to improve his position but Cruz isn't that keen on the idea. Cruz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Cruz looking to control and managing it successfully. Farber wants to control but Cruz is having none of it. Cruz putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Uriah Farber has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Farber tries to reverse the position but Cruz maintains control. Cruz tries to control but Farber wriggling away. Farber wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. A lull in the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. You can see the frustration on Farber's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Cruz tries to get the hooks in deep but Farber pushed the leg off. Cruz throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Farber!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cruz is working for a rear naked choke. Farber is not defending it well and Cruz has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Farber refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Farber's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
