Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Molina! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tony Turbio! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turbio tries to score a power double leg takedown but Molina sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Turbio somewhat. Turbio shoots in and gets a takedown into Molina's guard. Molina controls Turbio momentarily but Turbio frees himself. Turbio passes into half guard. Turbio moves into full mount! Molina won't be happy about that! Molina defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Turbio. Turbio is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Molina is surviving well by controlling Turbio's body position as best he can. Molina is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Molina wants to control but Turbio is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Turbio is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Molina can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Turbio is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Molina to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Molina shrugs it off. Turbio with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Molina is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Turbio locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Molina is forced to tap!
