Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steve Hanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gagado Gagadi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steve Hanson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gagado Gagadi!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hanson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Hanson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gagadi on the ground.
The fighters are battling for position here. Gagadi manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Hanson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gagadi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hanson, into his guard.

Hanson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gagadi is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Hanson is desperately trying to improve his position but Gagadi has a good base and remains in mount.
Hanson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Gagadi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hanson as he avoids it easily.

Hanson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hanson manages to end up in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

A close second round but Gagado Gagadi will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Gagadi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hanson tries to avoid it but Gagadi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hanson to the ground. Hanson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gagadi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hanson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hanson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gagadi is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gagadi and Hanson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gagadi tries to get the hooks in deep but Hanson pushed the leg off.

Steve Hanson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Hanson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
