Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Calvin Bradley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Trev Hartley! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hartley shoots in for a double leg but Bradley sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Bradley's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hartley under the eye. Hartley clinches up with Bradley and pushes him back against the cage. Hartley is trying to pull guard but Bradley has him pressed against the cage. Bradley pushes Hartley back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Bradley tries a body shot but Hartley blocks it.
Bradley swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Bradley manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hartley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bradley as he avoids it easily. Calvin Bradley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Trev Hartley. Bradley throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Bradley lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hartley will feel that in the morning.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bradley throws a low kick but Hartley avoids it. Hartley gets a takedown into half guard. Bradley is not content to let Hartley control the position. Hartley seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Hartley is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bradley defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hartley is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bradley slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Hartley slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Hartley tries for a kimura but Bradley is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hartley working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Hartley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bradley is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hartley wants to control but Bradley is keeping him busy. Hartley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bradley has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bradley dodges the ground and pound from Hartley. Bradley tries to improve position but can't. Bradley taking punishment in the form of punches.
Hartley has hold of Bradley's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Bradley seems comfortable defending it but Hartley has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Bradley is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Bradley is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hartley couldn't care less - he's delighted!
