Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Byrd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Dickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christopher Byrd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Dickson! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Francis DeMontford and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dickson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Byrd managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Dickson.
Dickson working away. Dickson throws a strike aimed at the side of Byrd's head but Byrd avoids it well. You can see the frustration on Byrd's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Dickson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Dickson working the ground and pound but Byrd is defending the strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dickson advances to full mount. Byrd is looking to improve his position but Dickson isn't that keen on the idea. Byrd really is a fat lump. Dickson punching from mount but Byrd doing a good job of avoiding damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Byrd is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Byrd is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Byrd is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Byrd tries to hold on but Dickson pushes him away. Dickson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dickson fails to advance to Byrd's back. Dickson is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Byrd is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Byrd flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Dickson anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Byrd and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Dickson slips an arm under Byrd chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Dickson has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Dickson is squeezing on Byrd like an anaconda would it's prey. Byrd fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Matt Dickson!
