Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Firbino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Firbino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Adams!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams shoots in but Firbino avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Firbino keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Adams closes the distance and clinches up with Firbino, looking for a takedown. Adams pushes Firbino against the cage but Firbino circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Andre Firbino has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samuel Adams.

Adams drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Firbino is not content to let Adams control the position.
Adams is chipping away with strikes.
Adams is looking to take a break and control but Firbino is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Adams goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Firbino has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Adams but great work by Firbino.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Firbino counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Samuel Adams has been cut.
Adams gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Firbino counters with a shoot takedown. Adams fights it but they end up in guard.

Adams manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Firbino manages to get himself to full guard.


Firbino working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Adams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Adams is looking to work some ground and pound but Firbino has wrist control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Adams postures up and lands a big shot to Firbino's brow.

Firbino is trying to stick to Adams's back but Adams is turning into Firbino. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Firbino's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Adams.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Adams is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Adams must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Adams shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Firbino is trying to defend but Adams finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Adams is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Firbino reverses the position - he's now on top in Adams's guard.

Firbino trying to control from half guard but Adams is working away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Firbino stands and throws Adams's legs to the side, diving into side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Samuel Adams comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Adams has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
