Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Malik Hodge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Castiel Vien!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Anthony Taglia and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hodge drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Hodge has closed the distance and engaged Vien in a clinch.
Hodge landing knees to the head.

Hodge has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Vien uses from the top position.
Vien makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Vien postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Vien is looking to work some ground and pound but Hodge has wrist control.
Vien throwing strikes from guard but Hodge blocks nicely.
Vien missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Hodge wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vien landing with the ground and pound.
Hodge utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Vien is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hodge knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vien on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hodge wants to sweep but no luck.
Hodge avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hodge seems keen to control Vien's posture.
Vien wants to control from the top but Hodge keeps moving.
Vien has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hodge working for a triangle but Vien defends it easily.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Hodge is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A shot to the body from Vien misses
and Hodge counters with a slapping leg kick.
Vien cracks a nice hook into Hodge's ribs.
Vien connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hodge's hands.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vien connects with a right that clearly hurt Hodge. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Vien proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Hodge collapses and taps out under the pressure!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Castiel Vien!
A relieved looking Castiel Vien thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
