Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tad Whitney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Szymon Krusz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tad Whitney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Szymon Krusz!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Krusz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Whitney, pushing him back against the cage.
Krusz creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Whitney's defenses.


It looks like Tad Whitney has been cut.
Whitney can't break the clinch.
Whitney blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Krusz comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

With the fighters up against the cage, Krusz throws an elbow but misses.
Krusz has Whitney pressed against the cage, preventing Whitney from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Szymon Krusz.

Whitney gets tackled into the cage by Krusz. Krusz maintains the clinch.

Whitney has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Krusz clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Krusz tries to escape but Whitney has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Whitney is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Whitney has the hooks in. Krusz is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Krusz rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Krusz is trying to control but can't.
Whitney is taking a breather. Krusz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Whitney has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Whitney has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Krusz's face.

That was a close round but I would say that Tad Whitney will probably get the nod.

Krusz will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Whitney up against the cage.

Whitney changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Krusz fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Krusz is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Whitney jumps guard and drags Krusz to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Krusz is looking to work some ground and pound but Whitney has wrist control.
