Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clay comes to the cage accompanied by I Can't Stop - Flux Pavilion. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jay Clay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cain Velasquez! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clay wants to clinch up but Velasquez keeps it at a distance. Velasquez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Clay is trying to defend but Velasquez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Clay is trying to stand up here but Velasquez is controlling him well. Velasquez working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
It looks like Jay Clay has been cut. Velasquez is working for a kimura but Clay is defending it quite comfortably.
Velasquez prevents Clay from improving his position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ground and pound from Velasquez. Velasquez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Velasquez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Clay tries to kick Velasquez off but Velasquez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Velasquez seems content to control. Clay is looking for a sweep. Velasquez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Clay is trying to stand back up but Velasquez is controlling him
Velasquez working the head and body with strikes. Velasquez is nestled in close to Clay, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jay Clay's cut is getting worse. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Velasquez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Jay Clay's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Clay looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Clay is breathing heavily. Velasquez is working for a submission of some sort.
Velasquez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Velasquez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Clay with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Velasquez scoring with strikes to the body and head. Velasquez is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Velasquez is nestled in close to Clay, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Velasquez connects with a nice short shot to Clay's temple. Velasquez scoring with strikes to the body and head. Velasquez working the head and body with strikes. Clay tries to roll over but Velasquez keeps him under control. Velasquez looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Clay is trying to stand up here but Velasquez is controlling him well. Clay is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Velasquez scores with a couple of nice shots. This has been an exciting period of action! Velasquez is looking for a kimura here.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jay Clay's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
