Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Petruzelli!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weidman throws a body shot but no joy.
Weidman throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Petruzelli stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Weidman bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Petruzelli's head.
Weidman tests Petruzelli's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Petruzelli gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Weidman.
Petruzelli shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Weidman pinned against the cage. Weidman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Petruzelli looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Weidman is fending him off so far but Petruzelli persists. Nope, Weidman circles away and we're back to standing.
Weidman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Weidman lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Weidman.
Weidman scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

William Weidman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Weidman definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Petruzelli tries for a takedown but Weidman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Petruzelli misses with a takedown attempt - Weidman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Weidman punishes Petruzelli's body with a nice straight punch.
Weidman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Petruzelli doesn't seem bothered though.

Weidman lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Petruzelli goes down and covers up as Weidman starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). William Weidman!
William Weidman made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Ouch that guy took a beating.'.
