Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maki Pulu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chi Lewis Parry! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pulu shoots in and bounces Parry off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Parry keeping moving, preventing Pulu from controlling successfully. Pulu thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Pulu drops back, looking for a kneebar! Parry looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Parry looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Parry! Parry wants to stand but Pulu is controlling his arm. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pulu tries to get back to half guard but can't. Pulu is working hard here to advance position. Parry is looking to take a break and control but Pulu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parry fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Pulu tries to improve position but can't. Pulu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Pulu gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Pulu looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Parry seems to be looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Pulu looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Pulu looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pulu looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Pulu trying to hold on to Parry's head to control him but Parry postures up.
Pulu actively working from the bottom here. Pulu is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Parry pulls his head out easily. Parry trying to control the action but Pulu is working from the bottom. Parry prevents Pulu from improving his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pulu blocking the ground and pound attempt from Parry. Pulu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Pulu tries to get to full guard but Parry has control of the leg. Pulu looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pulu trying to control from the bottom.
Pulu looking for subs from the bottom but Parry mounts him! Parry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pulu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pulu keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Pulu wants to control but Parry is keeping busy and won't allow it. Pulu looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Parry trying to control from half guard but Pulu is working away. Parry wants to pass the guard but Pulu is defending well. Pulu is looking to improve his position.
Parry looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Parry looks winded! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pulu looking for submissions off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Maki Pulu dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Pulu shoots and misses and Parry cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Pulu loads up on a big right hand but Parry slips the punch. Pulu doesn't succeed with the takedown and Parry counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Pulu has his foot on Parry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Parry works his way back into a safe position though. Parry controlling from the top position. Pulu looking to control.
Pulu looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Parry wants to pass the guard but Pulu is keeping the position. Pulu has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Parry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pulu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Parry doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Parry manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parry wants to stand but Pulu has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Parry is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Pulu has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Parry is looking to defend but Pulu has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Parry! Pulu pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Parry taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Maki Pulu!
