Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Henrik Haga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarkko Lato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Henrik Haga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jarkko Lato! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lato shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Haga but Haga pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lato tries to score a power double leg takedown but Haga sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lato somewhat. Haga closes the distance and clinches. Haga connects with a knee to the head.
Haga lands a body punch in the clinch. Haga jumps guard and drags Lato to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Lato won't allow Haga to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Haga keeping moving, preventing Lato from controlling successfully. Haga working a defensive guard here.
Lato throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Haga works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lato postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Haga is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lato scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Lato with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Haga wants to stand but Lato is controlling the position. Haga working for submissions but it's allowed Lato to get to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lato scoring with strikes to the body and head. Lato looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Haga avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lato. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Lato drops an elbow to the side of Haga's head. Lato has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Haga is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lato is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Lato takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Lato is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Haga is just riding it out for now. Lato eventually gives up the hold. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lato working over Haga with some ground and pound. Haga looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Nice strikes from Lato there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haga looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Lato thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Haga's head. Lato working Haga over with strikes. Lato is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Haga sees it coming and defends easily. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Lato working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Lato is trying to control the action in half guard but Haga is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Lato not landing any meaningful shots this time. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Haga has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lato is working away from the top position though. Haga is breathing heavily. Haga is trying to stand.

Lato fails with the takedown. Lato tries for a takedown but Haga sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Lato throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Haga's waist but Haga gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lato off to one side. Henrik Haga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jarkko Lato. Haga tries to close the distance and clinch but Lato swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Haga gets in close and instigates a clinch. Haga jumps guard and drags Lato to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Lato throws a big right hand that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lato postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lato lands a couple of decent looking shots. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Haga is trying to maintain the position but Lato is very close to passing his half guard. Lato thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Lato is looking for a kimura but Haga is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lato to get the leverage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lato lands a nice short elbow. Lato is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Haga has managed to free his arm - good work. Lato slips a nice elbow through Haga's hands, connecting with Haga's forehead. Lato lands strikes from half guard. Lato seems to be working for a kimura but Haga defends the submission attempt. Haga wants to get back to full guard but Lato has mounted him! Haga takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haga tries to hold on but Lato postures up. Lato landing shots from mount. Lato has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Haga's face.
Haga can't escape the position.
Haga in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Lato has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Lato pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Haga takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Lato's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
