PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eusebio Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sin Cara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eusebio Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sin Cara!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson shoots in and drives through. Cara sprawls well.
Peterson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cara swivels and escapes.
Cara tries to close the distance and clinch but Peterson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cara shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Cara gets to his feet - Peterson follows without any prompting.

Cara shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Cara was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
A lull in the action here.
Cara creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Peterson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Cara staying calm.

Cara thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A lull in the action here as Cara stalls from top position.
Cara blocks the strikes from Peterson.
Cara trying to control the action but Peterson is working from the bottom.
Peterson is trying to control Cara's posture but Cara avoids it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Cara looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Peterson is avoiding damage well.

Cara tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Peterson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Peterson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peterson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cara is aware though and is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Peterson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cara escapes and throws Peterson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cara decides to stand back up.
Cara tries to clinch there but Peterson circles away.

Cara changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Peterson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Peterson regains half guard, as Cara was trying to land strikes.
Cara controlling the action here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cara works his way into side control.
Peterson pushes Cara away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cara gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Peterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Peterson tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Cara controlling from mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Peterson blocking the ground and pound.
Cara pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sin Cara dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Cara throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Peterson colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Cara as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Peterson is left battered and dazed whilst Cara and his camp cheer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sin Cara!
