Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, LeBron James! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Travis Davies! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James drives through and clinches with Davies against the cage.
James blocks a punch to the side of the head.
James with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Davies drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Davies takes an elbow to the temple. Davies is trying to push James away but James has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Davies tries to break the clinch but James is controlling the position. Davies has had enough of the clinch but James keeps him there for the moment. James lands an elbow inside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davies has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Davies has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Davies tries to circle away but James has him pinned against the cage. James looking to throw knees to the head but Davies is blocking nicely.

James has the Thai plumb, controlling the head nicely. He loads up with a big knee to the head and Davies goes down! James pounces into side control - this one could be over soon!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. James decides to stand up, so the ref orders Davies to his feet. James lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Davies up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs James from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Davies's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). LeBron James! LeBron James retains his middleweight title! Our winner, LeBron James, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
