The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Solidkov is trying to defend but Simon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Simon blocks the strikes from Solidkov.
Solidkov manages to get to full guard.
Solidkov looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Solidkov has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Simon has passed into side control.

Simon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fighters are working up against the cage. Solidkov manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Solidkov pulls guard.

It looks like Dion Simon has been cut.
Solidkov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Simon to the mat! Simon manages to get full guard.

Solidkov is looking for a triangle here but Simon uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Solidkov moves into range and clinches up with Simon.
Solidkov is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Simon to keep the fight standing.
Solidkov tries to score a body lock takedown but Simon shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
A bit of stalling here from Simon.
Solidkov keeps control of Simon as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Simon drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Solidkov gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Simon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Solidkov has closed the distance and engaged Simon in a clinch.
Solidkov wants to break the clinch but can't.
Solidkov jumps guard but Simon turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Dion Simon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aleksandr Solidkov.
Solidkov prevents the takedown attempt.
Simon jumps into guard, dragging Solidkov to the mat.
Simon is pulling down on Solidkov's head. It's preventing any offense from Solidkov, at least for the moment.

Solidkov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Simon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Solidkov wants to get up but he can't break Simon's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Simon wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Solidkov looking to sit in guard and control but Simon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Solidkov wants to sweep here but Simon controlling him for the moment.

Solidkov has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Simon.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Solidkov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Simon, pushing him back against the cage.
Solidkov has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Simon after a bit of a struggle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aleksandr Solidkov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Solidkov darts in and clinches Simon up against the cage.
Simon drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Simon jumps guard.
Solidkov postures up and lands a big shot to Simon's brow.
Simon is working an open guard so Solidkov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Solidkov connects with a combination that backs up Simon into the cage. Solidkov lands a flurry of punches that gets past Simon's guard. Simon is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Solidkov bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aleksandr Solidkov!
