Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bali Aba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruben Yanez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bali Aba had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 207.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aba throws a head kick that misses
and Yanez counters with a one-two to the body.
No luck for Yanez with that takedown attempt.

Bali Aba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yanez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Aba pinned against the cage. Aba gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Aba has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Yanez wants to get back to his feet but Aba drags him back down.

Yanez throws a left that rocks Aba and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Yanez dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Aba regain composure!
It looks like Bali Aba has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aba throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Aba is looking for a sweep.

Yanez is looking to take a break and control but Aba is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Aba manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Aba keeping hold of Yanez's head, controlling as best he can.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Yanez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Yanez.
Yanez shoots in looking for a takedown but Aba manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Yanez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Aba pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Yanez connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Aba closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Yanez's guard.

Aba throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Yanez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Aba. That did some damage!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Aba is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Yanez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Aba pulls Yanez in close to his closed guard and prevents Yanez from doing any damage or advancing position.
Aba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yanez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Aba is pulling down on Yanez's head. It's preventing any offense from Yanez, at least for the moment.

Aba working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yanez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yanez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Yanez is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Aba has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Yanez is looking to defend but Aba has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Yanez! Aba pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Yanez taps out and this one is all over!
