Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Savs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kruger Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob Savs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kruger Kongo!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Anthony Taglia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kongo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Savs is fending him off so far but Kongo persists. Nope, Savs circles away and we're back to standing.

Savs gets a takedown into half guard.
Kongo is staying active underneath Savs, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Savs thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kongo's head.
Kongo looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Savs looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Savs looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Savs trying to control from half guard but Kongo is working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Savs misses with a double jab.
Kongo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Savs bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Kongo throws Savs to one side and escapes!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kongo lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Savs is breathing heavily.
Savs fails with the takedown

and Kongo counters with a takedown into side control.

Kongo decides to stand back up. Kongo steps back and let's Savs get back to his feet.
Savs just misses with a punch to the body.

Kongo scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Kongo wants to stand up but Savs is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kongo prevents Savs from improving his position.
Kongo tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Savs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kruger Kongo dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Savs fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bob Savs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Savs has his takedown stuffed
and Kongo counters with a series of strikes. Savs will be more careful next time no doubt.
Kongo stuffs the takedown attempt from Savs. Savs gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Savs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Savs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kongo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Kongo escapes and gets back to his feet.

Kongo drives through and clinches with Savs against the cage.
Nice body punch from Kongo.
Savs has Kongo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kongo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Kongo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kongo tries to clinch up.

Kongo scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Savs throws a combination that misses
and Kongo counters with a one-two to the body.

Kongo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Kongo stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Savs throws a head kick that misses

and Kongo counters with a nice double leg into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Savs is working an open guard so Kongo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
A combination from Kongo does no damage.
Savs takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Savs tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Kongo shoots in and bounces Savs off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Savs working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Kongo has passed into half guard!

Savs wants to control but Kongo is keeping busy.

Kongo stands up from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kruger Kongo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Kongo fails to land with a series of punches.
Savs doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Kongo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Savs is trying to keep Kongo in close.
Kongo stopping the sweep attempt from Savs.

Kongo tries to stand but Savs is controlling from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kongo stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Kongo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Kongo escapes and gets back to his feet.
Bob Savs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Savs looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kongo!
Savs looking to finish with strikes here!
Savs thowing shots but they're missing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kongo wants to try and get back to his feet.

Kongo defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Savs.
Kongo's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Savs misses with a head shot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Savs looking to control but Kongo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kruger Kongo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kongo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
