Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Takeshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirigaya Kazuto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kirigaya Kazuto told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryan Takeshi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kirigaya Kazuto! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takeshi closes the distance and clinches. Kazuto goes for a takedown in the clinch but Takeshi prevents it.
Takeshi slowing the pace effectively. Takeshi pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Takeshi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Takeshi lands in his opponent's guard. Kazuto has control of Takeshi's left arm, preventing Takeshi from doing any damage. Kazuto is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kazuto is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kazuto seems to be working for a kimura but Takeshi defends the submission attempt. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kazuto is working for a submission of some sort.
Takeshi is looking to improve his position.
Takeshi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kazuto is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Takeshi taking some punishment here, with Kazuto in his half guard. Takeshi on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Takeshi tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takeshi wants to improve his position but Kazuto is controlling well.
Kazuto in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Takeshi tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kazuto!
