The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ortiz misses with a double jab.

Bondurant thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bondurant connects with a crisp jab.
Bondurant throws a jab when Ortiz was well out of range.
Bondurant missing with a left hand there. Ortiz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Bondurant punishes Ortiz's body with a nice straight punch.

Bondurant throws a combination. Ortiz tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Forrest Bondurant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bondurant is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Ortiz had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

No joy there for Ortiz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bondurant tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bondurant changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Bondurant might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Bondurant jabs Ortiz to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ortiz slips under a jab from Bondurant.

Bondurant lands a left and a right that send Ortiz crashing to the mat, dazed. Bondurant thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Ortiz is rocked!
Ortiz gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Bondurant gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Ortiz is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
