Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Sharp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cesar Vialpando (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cesar Vialpando is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharp throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vialpando was covering up waiting for the punch and Sharp finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Sharp trying to control the position from guard on top but Vialpando is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vialpando is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Vialpando not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Sharp wants to improve his position but Vialpando is controlling well.
Vialpando is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sharp is just riding it out for now. Vialpando eventually gives up the hold.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vialpando is working for a kimura but Sharp is defending it quite comfortably.

Vialpando is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sharp doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vialpando.

Sharp knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vialpando on the ground.
Vialpando is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Vialpando thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Vialpando postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sharp is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Vialpando, into his guard.

Sharp prevents Vialpando from getting back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Vialpando has control of Sharp's left arm, preventing Sharp from doing any damage.
Sharp stops Vialpando from standing up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Sharp.
Vialpando prevents Sharp from improving position.

Vialpando wants to get back to his feet.

A close round but Cesar Vialpando will probably get the nod.

Sharp is stalling here. Vialpando is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Sharp seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Vialpando has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Vialpando postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Vialpando thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Sharp is looking for a sweep.
Vialpando has hold of Sharp's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Sharp tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Vialpando cranks the arm and Sharp screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Sharp, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Cesar Vialpando!
Cesar Vialpando was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
