The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Johnston defends well and Wang ends up having to push Johnston into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Johnston has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Wang after a bit of a struggle.

Wang rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnston moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Wang shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnston pinned against the cage. Johnston gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Wang throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnston's waist but Johnston gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wang off to one side.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wang enables Johnston to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wang manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
