Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Parr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rhys Drew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Parr has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Parr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rhys Drew! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drew wants to clinch up but Parr keeps it at a distance. Parr closes the distance looking to clinch and Drew counters with a one-two to the body. Parr gets caught napping as Drew dives in and scores a takedown. Parr manages to retain guard. Parr wants to stand but Drew is controlling the position. Drew wants to control from the top but Parr keeps moving. Drew slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Drew has gone for a leg lock! Parr slips out almost immediately though and dives into Drew's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drew working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Parr. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Parr prevents Drew from getting back to his feet. Parr sitting in guard, not really doing much. Drew looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Drew has a closed guard, preventing Parr from standing up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Drew shoots in and drives through. Parr sprawls well. Parr tries to clinch but Drew is having none of it. Drew tries to close the distance and clinch but Parr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Parr wants to clinch up but Drew keeps it at a distance. Drew throws a combination that misses and Parr counters with a nice uppercut. Drew fails to land with a series of punches.
Drew tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Parr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Parr darts in and clinches Drew up against the cage. Drew blocking some punches.
Drew looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drew can't break the clinch.
Parr keeps control of Drew as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Parr looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Parr. Parr misses with a short punch on the inside. Drew blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Drew breaks the clinch.
Parr moves out of range of the body kick. Drew dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Drew looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Parr is fending him off so far but Drew persists. Nope, Parr circles away and we're back to standing. Drew tries to keep at a distance but Parr has taken the fight into the clinch. Parr working aggressively here.
Drew breaks from the clinch.
Parr is looking to clinch but Drew is avoiding it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Drew throws a combination that misses and Parr counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Drew connects with an inside leg kick. Drew tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Parr swivels and escapes. Mike Parr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rhys Drew. Drew looks winded! Parr tries to clinch but fails miserably letting Drew counter with a right hand. Drew tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Parr swivels and escapes. Parr tries to clinch up. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Parr cracks Drew with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Drew looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Parr finish him?
Drew is rocked!
It looks like Rhys Drew has been cut. Parr has taken the fight to the clinch.
Drew is still on wobbly legs! Can Parr finish him? Parr misses with a hook from the clinch. Drew blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Parr throws a punch but it's blocked by Drew. Drew is trying to break the clinch but Parr is controlling him. A head punch blocked on the inside by Drew. Parr swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Parr swings wildly with an uppercut but Drew uses good head movement to avoid it. Parr throws a punch but it's blocked by Drew. Parr misses with the head strike.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Parr. Parr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Drew closes the distance but Parr moves to the side and Parr counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mike Parr! A relieved looking Mike Parr thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
