Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stewart Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Gudas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunter comes to the cage accompanied by Scotland The Brave. Roberto Gudas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Roberto Gudas! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gudas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Hunter looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Gudas! Hunter creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Hunter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gudas managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hunter.

Hunter thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Hunter is looking to advance position but Gudas won't allow it. Gudas trying to control here.
Gudas makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gudas. Hunter throwing strikes but missing. Hunter throws a big elbow that misses. Hunter lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hunter cracks Gudas with a solid left hand.

Hunter lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Gudas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hunter's guard. Hunter has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Gudas trying to control but Hunter is working from the bottom. Gudas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hunter wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hunter checks a leg kick. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hunter is defended easily by Gudas. Hunter lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Gudas at a distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gudas throws a head kick that misses. A head kick from Gudas lands but Hunter takes it in his stride. Hunter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hunter looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hunter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gudas's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunter is trying to control the action in half guard but Gudas is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Gudas blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hunter. Hunter sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gudas defending well though. Gudas trying to hold on to Hunter's head to control him but Hunter postures up.
Gudas is staying active underneath Hunter, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hunter is looking to advance position but Gudas won't allow it. Hunter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Stewart Hunter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gudas misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Hunter winds up and cracks Gudas with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Hunter working over Gudas with some ground and pound. Gudas looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Gudas slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hunter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hunter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gudas swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hunter won't allow Gudas to sweep him here.

Hunter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hunter distracts Gudas with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Gudas is trying to control the position but Hunter postures up. Hunter forces his way into half guard. Gudas is looking for a sweep. Hunter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Hunter thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Hunter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gudas with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Hunter is keen to just control but Gudas is a slippery customer. Hunter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gudas can do to turn this around? Hunter throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hunter connects with a nice short shot to Gudas's temple.

He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hunter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Hunter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hunter landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Stewart Hunter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gudas tries to get to full guard but Hunter has control of the leg. Still in half guard, Hunter seems content to control. Hunter trying to control from half guard but Gudas is working away. Hunter is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gudas scores with a head kick. Hunter tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Hunter tried to score with a low kick but Gudas checks it. Gudas does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Gudas goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gudas throws a head kick that misses. Gudas uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hunter. Hunter takes a swing at Gudas's ribcage but misses. Roberto Gudas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hunter tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
And that's the end of the fight! Stewart Hunter showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hunter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
