Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Trap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuuga Ikeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Trap is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Trap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yuuga Ikeda!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trap shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Trap looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Trap throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ikeda tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Trap is in Ikeda's guard.
Trap won't allow Ikeda to sweep him here.
Trap throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ikeda works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ikeda preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Trap wants to control from the top but Ikeda keeps moving.

Trap controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Ikeda told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ikeda has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Trap throwing strikes from guard but Ikeda blocks nicely.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ikeda tries to land knees in the clinch but Trap avoids the damage to the body.

Ikeda breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Ikeda shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Trap tries to get to full guard but Ikeda has control of the leg.
It looks like Ikeda is going to stand back up.
Trap knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ikeda on the ground.

Trap on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Trap tries to get out of the position.
Trap with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Ikeda can't handle though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Trap manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ikeda manages to get himself to full guard.

Trap drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ikeda dives on top into guard.

Ikeda works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Ikeda thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Trap's head.
Trap makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Trap.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Yuuga Ikeda will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Trap fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ikeda avoids it really well and circles away.

Trap manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ikeda manages to get himself to full guard.

Trap throws a strike but Ikeda rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Trap is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ikeda is breathing heavily.
Ikeda is refusing to be controlled, as Trap sits in half guard.
Ikeda tries to roll over but Trap keeps him under control.

Trap lands with a punch from half guard.

Trap is looking for a kimura here.
Trap wants to pass the guard but Ikeda is defending well.
Ikeda on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ikeda avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Trap.
Trap missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Trap is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Trap scoring with strikes to the body and head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Trap lands a nice short elbow.
Jon Trap overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ikeda is controlling Trap's trapped leg to prevent Trap from advancing to side control.
Ikeda is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Trap scores with a couple of nice shots.


Ikeda is rocked!
Trap lands a big elbow - Ikeda is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Trap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Trap!
An out of breath Jon Trap thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
