Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Puki Rabota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Lewis could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Puki Rabota's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Puki Rabota!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis throws a lazy head kick
and Rabota counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lewis thinking.
Lewis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rabota. That did some damage!
Lewis stuffs the takedown attempt from Rabota. Rabota gets slowly back to his feet.
Rabota blocks a head kick by Lewis.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rabota has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Lewis misses with a head kick.
Rabota misses with a takedown

and Lewis counters with a shoot takedown. Rabota fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lewis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rabota keeping moving, preventing Lewis from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lewis sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Rabota utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rabota is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lewis is aware though and is defending well.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lewis's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Lewis gets to his feet - Rabota follows without any prompting.
Lewis misses with an attempted mid kick.

Oooh a lovely combination from Lewis sends Rabota down but not out. Lewis dives into side control looking to finish.

It looks like Puki Rabota has been cut.
Rabota is not content to let Lewis control the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rabota tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Lewis has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Lewis has managed to clinch.
Rabota jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lewis walks away with a smile on his face. Rabota gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
John Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Puki Rabota.
Rabota shoots in for a takedown but Lewis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A head kick by Lewis - that's a beauty! Rabota is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Lewis can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
