Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Randall Reed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jose Cuervo! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cuervo wants to slow Reed down by chopping away at his legs. Reed scores with a body shot.
Cuervo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Reed comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Reed keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Reed uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cuervo. A cross from Reed lands. Cuervo throws a nice inside leg kick. Reed throws a body punch but Cuervo moves out of range. Reed ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Reed swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice body punch from Reed. Reed lands with a shot to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Reed connects with a jab. Reed looks to throw the jab but Cuervo is out of range. Reed moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. A shot to the liver by Cuervo. Beautiful body shot. Cuervo misses with a double jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cuervo throws out a powerful jab. Reed will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cuervo lands a jab to the head.
An inside leg kick lands from Cuervo. Reed throws the left hand but Cuervo avoids the punch easily. A slow jab from Cuervo misses its intended target. Cuervo defending well as Reed loads up on a big left hand. Cuervo bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Cuervo just misses with a punch to the body.
Reed lands a left and a right that send Cuervo crashing to the mat, dazed. Reed thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Cuervo is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Reed looks to throw the jab but Cuervo is out of range. Cuervo is still on wobbly legs! Can Reed finish him? Cuervo lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Cuervo misses with a kick to the body.
Cuervo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Reed throws out the jab. Reed scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Reed drops Cuervo with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Cuervo! Reed dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
